Planned Giving

Planned Gifts – CI Planned Gift Program.
Planned giving, sometimes referred to as gift planning, is a method of supporting non-profits and can be an advantageous way to provide for a future gift to charity. You can take care of yourself and take care of the Cuyamungue Institute.

Including the Cuyamungue Institute in your estate plans can help you accomplish a charitable goal while realizing potential significant tax savings and supporting the future of the Cuyamungue Institute. With thoughtful planning, you can create a win-win solution for you and the Cuyamungue Institute. Planned gifts support our mission and allow you to leave a legacy of playing a critical role of supporting our on-going research, securing CI and it’s land for future generations.

Easy to set-up. Bequests are easy to arrange, will not alter your current lifestyle, and can be easily modified to meet your changing needs. Already have a will? With the help of your attorney you can modify and use this simple sample language which you can add to plan your gift:

I give and devise to Cuyamungue Institute (Tax ID #85-0374546), located in Santa Fe, NM, the sum of $ _______ (or all or a percentage of the residue of my estate) to be used for its general support (or for the support of a specific fund or program).

IRA Beneficiary. It’s also possible to support the Cuyamungue Institute  (Tax ID #85-0374546) by naming us as a beneficiary of your IRA or other qualified retirement benefits. Simply request a change-of-beneficiary form from your plan administrator. Or if you’re age 70½ and older, you can donate up to $100,000 annually to charitable organizations directly from your IRA without having to treat the distribution as taxable income. Just contact your financial institution to initiate a rollover directly to the Cuyamungue Institute.

We can tailor a program specific to your needs. The Board of Directors are happy to provide detailed information to assist with your gift regarding gifts to the Cuyamungue Institute. We also are available to assist your attorneys or other advisors you work with to help facilitate your contribution.

Every gift matters. Estate gifts of all sizes remain integral to the globe-spanning work of the Cuyamungue Institute.  From developing student programs to endowing research activities, donors’ enduring legacies animate every corner of our Institute. Whatever your passion, you can inspire future generations of leaders, thinkers and doers with a bequest to  the Cuyamungue Institute.

We encourage our prospective donors to consult with their professional advisors when they are considering a planned gift to the Cuyamungue Institute.

Thank you for your consideration.
